Music: Quakers | by Quakers
L|T|M encourages you to check out the newly released album Quakers. With the help of Stones Throw’s Peanut Butter Wolf, Portishead’s Geoff Barrow assembled 35 members to contribute to Quakers’ 41-track debut. Along with Barrow (going by the alias Fuzzface), the project revolved around Invada Records producers 7-Stu-7 and Katalyst, and included contributions by an assortment of talented underground rappers, golden-age hip-hop veterans, and a wealth of fellow Stones Throw artists. Among these members are Pharcyde’s Booty Brown, Dead Prez, Aloe Blacc and Guilty Simpson. As we all know, Barrow’s work with Portishead was always a mainstay of Hip-Hop while sitting just outside of the genre. With Quakers, Barrows outdoes himself and in remarkable mixtape form.
Here’s how you can get the album at the sweet, sweet price of $9.99 for 41 tracks on iTunes: http://itunes.com/quakers
And a couple of MP3’s on the house to give you a feel, courtesy of Stones Throw Records..
