Israel Heller’s “Starship”
Israel Heller is a classically trained, LA-based solo violinist who integrates an ethereal combination of rock, pop, and classical music. In addition to his work as a solo artist, Israel is also a member of LA classic folk/rock sensation, The Pyramids, and a frequent guest performer with eclectic rock superstars, the Magical Planets. His duo, DECOR, has recorded an album, Collage by DECOR, and has performed in shows throughout Cleveland and LA. The Israel Heller String Section can be heard on singer David Burnham’s newly released album, One Day, and singer Katie McGhie’s upcoming solo album. Heller is known for playing such classic LA stomps as the Viper Room, The Purple Lounge and the Voodoo Lounge among countless others. Needless to say, his unique style makes him an act you want to see over and over.
Israel has worked with composer and vocalist Myra Moreta on various films and with her multi-instrument duo Sun and Cement. The current project we are featuring is Starship, which Heller produced and arranged with the help of director Austin Saya, producer Geoff K. Peel and cinematographer Stewart Yost. The electrifying violin of Heller’s along with his own orchestration (with Mark Vogel) relays a beautifully intrinsic experience of sight, sound and other manipulations of our senses. Check it out below, we can’t wait to see what else Heller comes up with.
