Music :: "Madlib Medicine Show: Pill Jar" + Free Medicinal

Music :: “Madlib Medicine Show: Pill Jar” + Free Medicinal

To kick off a trip to the Pacific Rim, Stussy and Madlib are getting us hyped with little tidbits of  Madlib medicinal being handed around.  First, there was the advert on the web this week via Rappcats for some “free medicine” in the form of a Madlib Medicine Show Brick. The beckoning item was strategically placed on top of a vending machine in Shibuya, Tokyo free for whoever got their first, with only these photos and some brief descriptions in kanji and english to lead the way.

And these are the guys that got it!  Probably one of the dopest scavenger hunts ever.  Apparently these little bricks have been popping up in locales worldwide.  This is the first in Asia, where Madlib has just arrived for three shows in Japan presented by Stussy, and the launch of the Medicine Show x Stussy T-shirt.  This will be followed by three shows in China.

Here we thought social media had ended the long forgotten street team marketing tactic, but with this gangsta ass approach how can you not be excited?  Gotta admit, we’ll be looking forward to the next one and they have our attention.

In the last day, Stussy Soundcloud Japan and Madlib have also dropped the Madlib Medicine Show: Pill Jar  which is a short collection of tracks from Madlib Medicine Show #1-12, available at Stussy Japan’s Soundcloud.
