It was only a matter of time before someone thought of turning one of Apple’s ingenious products into a nostalgic children’s toy, right? Well, four men from Mountain View, CA did just that with their latest concept, Etcher.

The creative invention turns out to be an iPad case styled after the iconic drawing tool, complete with its bright-red casing and drawing knobs that interfaces with an iOS app which allows you to relive the familiar drawing experience. The best feature? Being able to shake-erase the screen like the classic toy. Glad they didn’t forget that!

One caveat does exist with this throwback: they still need contributions before the public can get their hands on it. The team has a special Kickstarter page you can visit for more information and also make your donation to their clever creation.
